Frequently asked questions

nepal and promo 111How long are the appointments?

The first sessions lasts up to one hour, follow up treatments if needed are approximately 45 minutes long.

Do I need to be referred by my GP?

Although many of my patients have been referred by their GP this is not necessary.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, often it’s a good idea for moral support. Sometimes there’s a lot to take in on your first visit so I believe two sets of ears are better than one. Children 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by a parent or suitable adult.

How many sessions may I need?

This will depend on a number of factors including type of problem, age, fitness and general health. On average most of my patients feel better after 4-5 treatments. Long standing chronic conditions may take longer to treat. Some patients like to return after regular intervals for what I call “MOT” sessions to maintain health and mobility.

Will treatment hurt?

On occasions you may feel sore or stiff following treatment. This is a normal response following Osteopathy and normally eases after 24-48 hours. I always advise my patients to apply a cold compress following treatment and the next morning as directed.
